dichotomy

went church visiting today. i wonder if people ever mistook this place as a spa... lol :P

i still feel more 'comfortable' attending mandarin services, as opposed to english ones. but i usually read scripture in english and i talk with Him in that language, with the occasional rojak in the mix. it's missions week at this church so they were raising funds. these 3 handmade items cost merely $10.

the orange/grey thing is actually a tote. i believe it's the church's craft team who sewed the items using weaved cloth produced from these minority groups in China.

the sermon message was so in line with what i just studied this semester. i got a good jolt from learning the subject of cross-cultural intelligence. ironical that it wasn't the bible that taught me about human tendencies (but of course, since i refused to touch that book). but i also have problem reconciling theory with reality. if Jesus is the end of ethnocentrism, then it looks like the Church has been doing it wrong...?

perhaps it's indeed the case but fixing that is a job that's way above me; i should just focus on doing my part and doing it right.

wiw today. those in the know could probably tell that the top's from a local blogshop. why's it in my wardrobe in the 1st place? i didn't buy it but the style guru did, and it's a bit modified. i wore it once as a dress, unbelted and w/o the jeans. dangerously short although doable. just the other day, i noticed the skin around my knees sagging. oh the horrors.

wiw yesterday. ok, the sleeves are crooked. lol. the bottom garment is made up of a pair of pants with a separate piece of cloth buttoned on at the waist so it looks like a skirt from the back.
