b.i.b

it's been a while. i usually would've cut a tapered silhouette for the bottom half but i figured i should try something different. i was also inspired by a colleague whose style i dig alot. the skirt has to be short enough, flare enough; so i think this worked. i need a haircut again.

岁月不饶人

shouldn't be here. but here i am.

what's your ONE dream? do you even know what you want?

thanks for having me again. you know who you are. i'm very thankful for your friendship. thanks for accepting me as i am, yet doing what you have to -- for my sake.

无人问金

The blog is very much like a soliloquy in which you talk to everyone and no one at all.

mnemonic

^i wore the yellow shoes to work.

^but switched to the gold flats as i feared the rubber soles would give way. the heels are triangular instead of cylindrical. i doubt the cobbler has triangular rubber soles...

i got the dress for a thousand yen in Ueno. i love it when i find things unexpectedly or they wait for me expectantly. it didn't happen very often when i was in tokyo. i could've gone on a mindless rampage but i didn't. there really wasn't enuf time to comb thru everything. Ueno's probably the most unlikely place to shop for clothes and shoes but that's where i found a shop that sold vintage shoes. if it were springtime, i think i'd linger there forever. we couldn't find the dried cuttlefish packaged in fake currency but we did the green tea kit kat. my colleague told me just now that Ueno's known for "dried goods". see? lol.

Harajuku's quite cool, lah. i think i saw a guy being prepped to be photographed by some 'sartorialist'. i didn't see many crazy dressers the place was known for. wrong timing, perhaps. i skipped checking out the margiela store. i dunno why i was so... lazy. even when i had the chance to get something unavailable here, i wasn't too inclined. my friend was very generous: she bought a comme des garcons tee for her niece. i wasn't sure my bro and sil would take too well to the black hearts with sneaky eyes on their daughter. myself? i couldn't decide which i liked more, or less. so i passed.

then i also passed on the newborn baby clothes when i went to the comme ca store in Shinjuku. my sil had told me they'd prefer i buy something that my niece could wear when she's older. my sil is a frugal person who buys only what's needed. i think she's received enuf freebies from kind souls. i'd hate for things to go to waste, too. i suppose this was why i didn't spend much for this trip. i did score from the store an outerwear at 70% off. i'd have loved to get a romper and a shirtdress but i couldn't bear to pay too much for them.

more randomness when it trickles out of my head. till then, tata.

forget > forgot > forgotten

hoorah, my SIL fixed the virus problem!

^all photos taken on the same day. stupid hair. i forgot about this skirt. it's quite similar to this peach one below.

^no matter how i tried to experiment, i'd just end up in these colours. i'm personally very pleased with the combo, esp the shoe choice and the occasional belt. i was never really a mary-janes girl. i'm glad i didn't ditch the shoes even though they're in a pretty sad state already.

ok, i gotta get back to the 'spring-cleaning'. more forgotten clothes to be unearthed. meanwhile, you just hafta look at this darling:

lom jiam pas

this is so not me, right? i almost didn't get the dress. the puffy sleeves and babydoll look were too domineeringly princessy to me. the cost of my experiment with it is 5 bucks. the shoes - they're lovely - but i was reduced to a whimpering and useless person in them. i'd choose to be a peasant anytime.

eta: turned out my ma's met with the same fate today. she lamented how a slight increase in shoe height had made her so much more miserable. lol.

goreng pisang

very 'fruitful' day today. spent close to two hundred bucks in just one shop and i went beyond my usual cheapolata budget for shoes. yes, i bought shoes again. that's three pairs in one month.

i really need to go to the hair salon again. me and my big mouth. the perm was really not done to last. the fringe is growing longer but it's still at the length where i can't use my shades as a pseudo headband w/o strands falling down while the rest stick up like a cuckadoo's. bleh. i've been toying with the idea of a mullet-like do: short on the top and the sides, and long at the back. i think i shared this with two so far and both had said "no, lah."

ok, noted with thanks. lol.

hide

the ironing board says hello. i've been getting headaches from the paint fumes. i had to rub medicated oil on my temples and my nose before i hit the sack.

"Before our first lesson, I want to remind you of one thing," he said. "When you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes. Disappointment, defeat and despair are the tools God uses to show us the new way."

"Strange tools," said Brida. "They often dissuade people from carrying on."

chiclets

SIL came back from her company retreat and bought me a lil something again :)

she really knows my taste now. i'd have bought these myself.

remember chiclets, singapore? lol.

chiclets would've gone nicely with today's outfit. dress is slightly big on me. hope it's not so obvious when i layer it this way. both earth angels complimented me. han wei has been going to the office with me. the pink shoes have been cold-storaged and left unloved. what's wrong with shoe junkies? why can't we simply stop buying more shoes and enjoy what we already have? it's a losing battle. so i took it to the only one who can help me. i should log down how less often i go back to the habit.

han wei

no, it's not the name of that local actor. nor is it the name of any colleague, least of all a boyfriend. that's the brand of this "squidgy" bag. lol. i really lol when my colleague pointed it out. the bag's from china. it looks like a miu miu. again. but it's really all coincidence, i promise. i'm actually never a fan of miu miu. i'd go for prada over mm.

"squidgy" is the term my friend uses. the bal girls would usually say "smooshy". it's like "squishy" but there's tension in the texture of the leather so "squidgy" describes it perfectly. i think this will be my new favourite throw-around bag even though it's a bit big for my normal use. it's good for school too as it's more comfortable on the shoulders when i need my hands free.

i knew i could've worn another pair of shoes that suited the dress better. pointy shoes are just as tricky as round-toed ones. i was too lazy to dig out my all navy shoes. why do we even need so many shoes? what's the point when you bloody forget what you have and end up wearing the wrong shoes anyway?
i've had this pair for many suns and moons. i think i've worn them under 10 times.
these square-toed shoes are great. a shame they're a little loose.

i think navy shoes would've been the best, if i'm wearing a beige bag. how would you wear this dress? what colour bag and shoes would you wear?
