another
blast from the past. the funny thing is, i keep reading and hearing about "paddle pop" but i have totally no recollection of it being in my life back in the 80s. i only know it's the name of ice cream and that's that. i can't get over the fact that my colleague who's almost two decades younger than me can talk about paddle pop and i cannot relate. lol.

anyway, i took a trip to GDO's again and brought back this top. i've been in the 'retro tops' phase since
this time. or i just needed an excuse to spend :P
i went thru 3 pairs of shoes. settled down with the woven
ferragamos. this top also reminds me of a sliver of my past when i worked in a factory. i think i was 16 or 17 then. when i went back to that time, i remember my 'red indian' moccasins and then i remember how one time i slipped into the shoes to experience that grotesque experience of a lizard wriggling at my toes.
retrolicious is happening in oct. i kinda feel like going. but it's weird to attend alone. few nights back, the radio deejay had a phone interview with Rick Astley. i had a good laugh listening to what he had to say about the 80s.
Yaz asked him how much of the 80s fashion would he not miss (or something like that). his answer: 100%. lol. he mentioned pastel linen suits. he mentioned the shoulders. he mentioned the colour lilac. lol. he said just take away the
faux pas and we had great music. what irony. i think he said his daughter's wearing 80s fashion these days. she's turning 18. but he said something bingo: we have to step back at least a decade to be able to appreciate that past (or something like that). certainly the case for the fashion?
do you have a favourite song by Astley? or by
any of the acts coming? who prefers Tiffany? ;)
