we got a bunch of sporting people at the wedding dinner. there's a dance floor in the middle of the ballroom. a duo was hired to sing 'live' oldies. the aunties line-danced and some uncles danced waltzes, cha cha and rock 'n' roll with their mates. i spied much grannywear and vintage bags and shoes. lotsa preens. you can see three here in one picture.
^the lady in the toga maxi (wearing glasses) was the star of the night to me. not counting the bride, lah. there's this lady wearing a bareback LBD, bejeweled at the end of the 'bareness'. she's quite hot lah but her face was like so fierce lor. well, i guess i have to be a man so she'd relax and smile for me. now i get why my friend always tells me to smile more.
^my outfit. bought the jumpsuit from topshop at half price and two sizes bigger. somehow it'd look better than the one in my size (uk8). i didn't wear vintage garb but my accessories are all vintage. bag is vintage celine. peeptoes from GDO. braided belt is ferragamo. i surprised myself by wearing the chunky gold necklace. i was doing black and gold from the bag to the belt. lol. the hair - i couldn't do any better. if i looked like a folk dancer from china, so be it. i don't mean it in a negative way. i remember this was how i'd looked during folk dance performances when i was a kid. minus the pink furry stuff mothers liked to use on their daughters' buns. i did the korean bun here but tied tight and high.
^thank goodness i brought along this chinoi silk jacket to ward off the chills. it's very gaudy with the gold necklace, though. well i was in competition with some trendy grannies i gotta step it up, yeah :P i think it's my first time attending a wedding dinner alone. doing movies alone is nothing. this one needed me to shift gear; there's no way out. thankfully i sat with a sociable and rather charming uncle who came with his wife, who's the bride's chinese teacher from her secondary school (did you get that??) ok, that's all for now.
