hotel papaya

source

what an interesting hotel. kinda freaky too.
this room has at least two items i want.
a ladder.
a canopy bed.
i'm still stuck in my endeavour to decorate the living room.
i could:
(i) re-paint the 'feature' wall,
(ii) distract by adding stuff to the feature wall,
(iii) re-laminate two plywood-wall panels,
(iv) distract by placing a bold rug on the floor, or
(v) re-do the whole darn space.
i think i still don't know what i want.
i just suck at this whole thing, lah.

sinks & bowls

all images via japanese trash
reno works have begun last week. i'm still indecisive about my decisions. hope they won't turn out too ugly.
have you ever wondered why sinks are called sinks? and why toilet bowls? i thought them sinks look like bowls.

dare

happy new year!

chandy
i've been up to... some stuff... was  just not too inspired to log them in this space.
i did get a new look following this post. and again i was wishy washy about whether i liked it. was tempted to cut the hair even shorter. the curls have tamed a little, so i'm in two minds still. and of course i got all kinds of comments from the colleagues about the hair. what's new. i think i'm more sickened by myself than anything else. it's like i'm the betrayer of myself. i want it yet i don't want it.

tres chic
it's the same on every other front, it seems. i'm just so sick of being like this. i want to venture out, yet when i did, i wasn't sure i wanted that something new.

the above two wall coverings are on my radar now, amongst many other stuff. it's rather unlike me. yet i want them quite badly. but i don't trust myself. i can't afford to waste more money and time, really. yet i refuse to settle. the problem is, my choices are few.

i want everything.

i want nothing.

patterns

bohemian apartment
i think i'm going to go for dark outside the shower area, and light inside, like how this bathroom looks here. i hope i don't flip again. i believe just yesterday i told myself to forget about dark bathrooms. sighs.

i've also been flipping between plain and patterns (related posts to tell you what i mean).

this space is so unique, eh? i love surprising elements shot in unexpected places. it's been a long time we had wallpaper in our abodes. the last time, my parents had the whole house wallpapered and the stairs carpeted. but the wallpapers used were in safe colours like ivory and cream. it's the textures that were different, so the walls had the embossed effect.

i'll save more musings about wallpaper for another post.

case studies

incorporated
i need the software that allows me to play interior designer or decorator so that i can make up my mind already. i was at the flat with the contractor a few days back. he said i may have to carve out a dining area of sorts in the just-as-tiny kitchen rather than squeeze it within the living room. and  he said it's ok to move the kitchen sink to where the windows are, don't think that'll affect our hanging out the laundry because it's not really our style all these years.

so, imagine here: the washing machine will go where the table is, the kitchen sink to move to where the fridge is, the hood will move to where the kitchen sink is, the fridge will go to where the washing machine is.

which bathroom do you like the most? and why? me? duh. of course i can't decide.

凹 or 凸

gdo

do you prefer the basin outside like that, or sunken?

i prefer it sunken, i think. but this looks nice. i think i like it cos it's metal. not like those typical 'cheaper' looking metal ones in kitchens.

oh i'm just rambling.
