非死不可

confession: i'm a facebook convert. like, finally. heh. there're some things to like about FB, and it's not the 'like' button. lol.

anyways, so i'm on facebook now. truth be told, i'm mostly leveraging on it to have my store reach out to more people although eBay's been doing the job fairly well.

showcasing above is one of my recent hauls from five stones vintage. i didn't feel very confident about this combination. i never had this in my head when i got the leotard. you know how it is when you have in your head a few possible combinations when you're plotting to acquire some top or bottom or bag or shoes? the fact is, leotards are very tricky on bodies that ain't hot. they're just like swimsuits. if you ain't got enuf mass on your chest, somehow these garments will magnify that fact. similarly, if you ain't got a flat tummy, it's so going to show, you know.

anyhoo. that's how i ended up wearing the leotard. i couldn't find my purple shoes to make it really matchy-matchy. thank goodness, on hindsight. one reason i didn't think of wearing the leotard with the skirt is this:

i did have in mind to wear the brilliant leotard with a plain pair of slacks. let's see when it happens. i've got so many items waiting in rotation...

as if i'm ever going to wear them... i got them since end 2008. 2008!!!!!!!! they probably can't cover my tits by now. lol.

nautral

it's nautral, indeed. your eyes did see right.

the pants are my first real purchase from a local blogshop. i gotta say i liked them plenty even though they're not real paper bag pants. one of the buttons has fallen off, barely halfway into the day. it's sewn on tight, actually. maybe the thread's too thin the knot's not big enough.

my look today should be part 80s grunge? it's the cropped top. it's a recent flea find. it's not preloved but brand new. i bought it only cos it reminded me of the fashion of that time. i could layer it on a long racerback top. i don't usually buy inspired or pseudo vintage unless the price is right. this top cost ten bucks.

a few colleagues kept saying i looked cool everytime i wore the shades, to which i replied they could achieve the same (too). shades have that effect on everyone, yes? lol. one colleague said my style's "cool" and "korean". i was quite tickled. the irony's that i never got caught up in the whole K wave. i told her my style's really caught in a time warp ("八十年代") and she expressed surprise. she's just a baby, i guess.

i can't say i adore grunge fashion. i wasn't very trendy at that time cos i was a late bloomer. the recent 80s comeback gave rise to more inspired or pseudo clothes. just wear anything floral (with exposed zippers), put on a pair of martens and tie that sash in your hair. anyway, here's a tip we could use to give our dresses or skirts a twist:

show some leg
oh no. i'm back to wanting to buy more vintage dresses...

kicking the bucket

why am i suddenly interested in a bag that's likely too large on my frame? i just found out that they came out with a mini version. and i liked it too. i have a mini vintage bucket bag by charles jordan, which i love, but which is so mini it can't hold my wallet. it's hilarious.

i first saw the chloe aurore on LVR. love! it reminded me of the burberry studded ones i saw in tokyo. i think the burberry's cost 500+ sing dollars. but the bag's quite like those cheap studded bags sold everywhere. and i'm not crazy about studs, really. i know, those giant grommets on bbags are also considered studs, right? i'm choosy.

which one? or should i go for the rh pom pon

you know i'm in that place of utter restlessness when i talk about spending ridiculous money on things i already have enuf of.

brink of deliverance

ai-yo

there's something wrong about the length of the pants both left and right... perhaps i shouldn't have worn the warmers? they're the same pants worn here and here. while they gave the illusion of more apparent buttocks, they also seemed to broaden my thighs at some angles. whatever. the outfit might lead people to wonder if i was in my right mind. the weather's been erratic again. my nose was sprinting the 1st half of the day; the outfit had kept me cuddled in the office. and goodness - the hair's such a mess at the back. this really might be the last time to have my hair that long.

i've been in that same place of uncertainty and distrust again recently. as forecasted then, the load had really been piling on. and school hasn't even started yet. i did wonder if it's just all in my head but  this week 's events seemed to signal that perhaps it's time to do something about it. i didn't want to be rash. but i was so disheartened twice in just this week, enuf to let my emotions spill a lil.i  told my supervisor today that i might make alternative work arrangements for the next half of the year. now i wonder if i should've brought it up  later. i shared with her a bit of my honest thoughts and she's said some things in response. i'm not sure i wanna delve deeper into it anymore; i simply cannot lie to save myself. i might have painted myself into a corner. well done, 十十f十.

rut-tut-tut

< i realised i have to take self-timer pictures if i wanna be sure my bags and shoes won't look too odd with the outfits when viewed from a certain distance. the mirror in the bedroom doesn't tell me the same thing. so i took pictures of me wearing the 2 bags. my guts told me it's the vintage patchwork that'd surely go. then i thought i should give a baal a chance to get out to play. it's still always the good 'ol cheap and functional and unique bag that won.

same 'batwing' sleeveless top. same bag. on a different day>

here's another same same but different for you.

and again my baals will take a back seat for these old bags. are you as lame as me?

another irony to love (or not). these are my very first purchases on  Market Publique. when i saw that it goes by a bidding system, i thought oh well let's just enter my bids anyway. just for kicks. i'd usually lose out to others cos i'd sooner forget about it than watch my chances as a hawk would for its prey. as it turned out, i'd really forgotten about it. when i did recall, i think the auction just ended. i logged in at MP and clicked on everything except "I've won!" cos i thought i'd surely not stand a chance. lol.

and yay there's a huge ink stain in the CJ bucket bag that completely evaded my bird's eye view. see how thick i can be? oh and i haven't told you about my miscalculated Etsy buys. 'nuff said.
