again, i think i last wore some of these things back in 2008. the top's a $5 gem from one of those shopping trips with the guru. the shop's no longer there.

 

back then, i wore the dress with grey leggings and heeled oxfords, with a cool cardi that no longer fit me now. three years on, the guts for experimentation seemed to have disintegrated and passed out my system.

okay, this is like a continuation from the last post, in which i mentioned of my less-than-perfect proportions. it comes across negative, but it's really not my intention. you see, you can't see the 'bands' of these knitted jogger pants. why? because my legs aren't like supermodel legs. i can't find the picture of the pants on asos. they're quite perfect for today's weather. but they also feel a tad prickly.

coincidentally, a colleague wears a pair of cargo pants that are drawstring-typed at the ankles. she wears a pair of platformed steve madden wedges. it's a sexy silhouette. i wonder if the bands would be more visible if i had worn heels. it's pouring out so i wear the jellies.      

the top's the other half to this skirt. i never wore it cos i forgot that it existed. i have a knack for splitting things apart instead of wearing them as intended. the outerwear's courtesy of the guru yet again :)

the shoes were the stars today. three colleagues commented on them; one loved them (we're both shoes people). wearing a top given by the guru. it's like a batwing top, with fins. i never imagined i'd wear something like that but thanks to her i learnt not to trust my own judgement so much anymore. haha. the jacket's also from her. i thought it's longer but i do like it even though it can look aunty-ish if not paired well. the pants were new from gmarket. they're like harem pants.

i had one of those motherofheadches last night. really hellish.

gotta run. another assignment due soon. so i may have to miss the public garden flea. i almost wanted to participate as a seller... wow, looks like i really should've done it. they did quite a bit of publicity, this one...

my shiny pants from gmarket finally arrived. i didn't expect them to look that way... but how does shiny look anyway? not sure if they'd work. not even sure i'd wear them out. but hor, why do i like this look here? i don't think it's the shinyness. i tagged all the tags available since i like everything about it. i've been thinking about getting a pair of birkenstocks with ankle straps like these. would i wear them as often as i (don't) wear the others that i currently own? tsk.

the colleagues in my previous unit treated me to a belated birthday lunch. so sweet of them. the 'boss' who never came to be asked me to pick an ang pow out of three, it's her gift to me for my birthday. i had to pick the sweetest and most un-me necklace, ha ha. it's got the quintessential ribbon and the quintessential heart. i almost wanted to put it back and draw again so i won't rob someone of a chance to own such a sweet thang. apparently, each gift is unique. anyway, i kept it.

the aunty in the group said the cape's like batman's. she's the funniest, lah. she would ask us if we're wearing new clothes which we've probably worn a thousand times, but she didn't comment on the top i had on -- i didn't even realise i owned such a top, i probably hadn't worn it for 5 years or more. it's quite un-me, i almost couldn't step out of the house cos i couldn't decide if i should belt up or not. belts are one of those things that hinder movement. i'd wanted to belt up only cos it would serve to 'balance up' the proportion of the short high-necked top on my torso. and i think i lost my favourite oxfords :(

you know how i dislike obstructions. things that are fussying about me as i go about my way. sometimes i do wonder how i can be a layer fiend if things are draping around me. hah.

 i forgot to include this bag as one of my purchases from the recent trip. i'd been eyeing something similar to the cath kidstons so when i saw this, i couldn't not make it mine. but did you know that it's a cooler or chiller bag? well, i didn't. but my sil could tell right away. ha ha. 

colour blocking? when did it start anyway? realised it's close to the combination i liked here.

this is probably my 3rd or 4th time wearing the dress since...

... 2008? dare i admit that i'm missing my longer locks? i do think i can do both long and short. maybe it's just age. of course i'd looked better when i was younger, eh? 

i don't know what's with the hem of the dress. i thought it's collapsed somewhere and needed some stitching but nothing's amiss leh.

time to start packing! and i'm so worried i'd fall sick. been feeling feverish and giddy these past 2 days.

time to replace the phone? i got the chance to own a brand new HTC wildfire at a discount today but i passed it up. i'm just going to ruin it before the warranty is up. haha. i don't have a data plan subscription anyway so a sophisticated phone's wasted on me. it's also time to confess that i've been slightly tempted to get a tablet pc.

the shorts were from a local blogshop, only cos they're on sale. the other items were expensive. no more of these, i just can't afford it.

the top's from ASOS, my very first order, ever, from that site. i liked the colour and shape so much that i got it in UK10. i think their items are expensive as well. i haven't seen my bill for the rate conversion. 98 quids for a pair of boots, two shirts and a pair of bottoms. but i'm pleased with most of them. i'm tempted to get more stuff...

but did you know that i'll be heading to korea next month? seoul exciting!!  

i wanna be next to you

snagging the chance to take my shorts out for some sunning. these were bought probably more than a year ago. my most expensive haul from a local blogshop's arrived. it's the shoes that caused a substantial part of the damage. turned out they're jellies. not as pointy as i'd like them to be. they seem to be tight during daytime (but they came with a pair of shoe liners). i chose the other black-and-gold pair over the new shoes.

it's true, isn't it, that a faceless or anon blog is just more mysterious or intriguing? i don't know what got into me to allow myself to show my face in this vast space. no, i don't mean that not showing my face would attract more readers.  

the hair is still not the most ideal cut. i want it shorter, and then i want it longer  i want bangs, and then i don't want them already. 

do i look ok in these big glasses? i personally think they're fine, that's why uncle tony re-cut new lens since the old ones won't fit. but the larger the lens, the more obvious the thickness at the sides. when i had long hair, my sil once commented that these frames didn't suit me. yesterday, an aunty colleague said they suited me. a young colleague (gen y or z) asked me why i was wearing these glasses (read: why did you do this to yourself?). anyway, i think i need new lens again. uncle tony shipped in some frames from japan and i liked how they looked on me. then again, that's cos the picture's  missing the thick lens. why can't i look good in glasses?

but i love the pants. they're from gmarket. not the most comfy, in that they could feel warm in our weather, but they feel like they're nothing on and the silhouette's great.

the shoes were bought over from the guru. thank goodness they didn't fit her anymore, so i could own them. they go with practically everything in my wardrobe. i almost wanted to try wearing these boots.
