pay less

source

payless actually means salaryless, right? lol.
this shop is really near my office.
i didn't even know the company's arrived at our shores some months back.
which is a good thing.
until now.
they're quite affordable. but i haven't been in the market for shoes, so i don't know how they compare to the others. the quality looks good. i'm tempted.
but of course.

noteworthy

i may not be able to resist it any longer...
what's stopping me now is the cost of owning this gadget.

but it's not like i'd use half of the functions in the.. thing.
maybe it's another monkey-see-monkey-want tendency that i unfortunately am not immune against, not all the time. i really oughtta wise up already.

kicking the bucket

why am i suddenly interested in a bag that's likely too large on my frame? i just found out that they came out with a mini version. and i liked it too. i have a mini vintage bucket bag by charles jordan, which i love, but which is so mini it can't hold my wallet. it's hilarious.

i first saw the chloe aurore on LVR. love! it reminded me of the burberry studded ones i saw in tokyo. i think the burberry's cost 500+ sing dollars. but the bag's quite like those cheap studded bags sold everywhere. and i'm not crazy about studs, really. i know, those giant grommets on bbags are also considered studs, right? i'm choosy.

which one? or should i go for the rh pom pon

you know i'm in that place of utter restlessness when i talk about spending ridiculous money on things i already have enuf of.

marshmellow-waiter

i got the belt buckle. at half price. i dunno yet if my DIY idea would work. it should be really ez. but it's just in my head, and the cost of the experiment has been halved. i didn't see the top Ben Yeo's holding up for the shooting crew. Hsiao Ying said that stock would be replenished regularly (so clever). happy national month at GDO, Singapore.

how many sentences now?

all other images taken from tfs

so the bag i saw months back was the fruit of a sofia coppola + LV collaboration. i fell quite hard for it then. it's not a brand new one, though. i wonder how much the monogram one costs in the boutique. i don't think i've ever stepped foot inside one. there was a long line at taka's when i wanted to check it out. i think the plain one's probably better, in that it looks less stiff and more versatile.

but. would i pay for the leather one when i couldn't imagine paying 3k for the slightly used monogram one? and honestly, does it look very different from the speedy sans shoulder strap? i could simply get the epi leather ones. plus. i dunno why i always end up going for boston-style frame bags that might not even suit me. *rolls eyes*

carrot legs

can you imagine i got these banana shoes in aug 2008 and didn't wear them till today. amazing. i hope they can still hold up for a bit more. i love them. they don't make shoes like that anymore, do they? but they can be tricky to wear. i think i have at least 3 pairs of shoes bought since 2007 and still being ignored by me. i went to Etsy for a while and i fell for a pair of shoes. who am i kidding? of course i also fell for a lace wedding dress and yet another dress with shoulder blades that're not unlike those seen on clothes sold by cool and expensive designers. they're all vintage.

i got the bag for sometime already. put off using it cos i just never found the cleaner and spray (didn't try hard enuf to look for them anyway) and i'm honestly just too bloody lazy to lift one finger. so i decided to use it today since i couldn't find a bag to go with the shoes.

the pants looked odd cos they're actually stirrups - they don't make these anymore, either. they're better worn with flat and pointier shoes if the straps are worn under the soles of my feet. i tucked in the straps today. the outerwear is a gem i picked up in kuala lumpur. it's like a batwing top but with the upper wings clipped off.

maxi love

i received an email about GDO's new arrivals and just have to share what i saw. here're some favourites (almost all of them, really):

^this outfit reminds me a bit of the ao dai. love the different textures. easy elegance.

^sexy and funky.

^i love every item here. i've been looking for a suitcase since forever. meant to blog about it sometime back.

^i'm thinking maybe this dress is better knee-length. else it looks like a nightie...? i almost got me one of those overnighter suitcases from etsy.

^some people might say this print looks like tablecloth :P it's the shoes that i like. and check out the fan in her hand.

^i fancy the traincase. looks like tweed with leather trimming.

^spy the brooch or whatever accessory that is hanging from the neck? nice touch.

^matchy-matchy modern purple jellies. me love.

^this is possibly my 2nd fave. i love halters but am too chicken to wear them. this looks tame and more adorable than in-your-face sexy.

i believe the styling's done by Hsiao Ying herself. i love HY's style. she always wore great hairstyles too - she could even pull off a mullet do. you can see her playing model here:

i'm still in lust mode. the entry was titled "runaway train". how coincidental is that? lol.

walk on by

thank you ladies for your kind words :)

i meant to buy just one item. i haven't had an item haunt me the way this skirt did. not in a long time. maybe it's cos i've been restless. i don't own a skirt with huge saggy pockets. i have a few checkered skirts. and those are my very first pair of huaraches. i think those on etsy are still a little expensive. these aren't cheap either but they fit and are very comfy. i almost bought one more pair of vintage shoes and there's a pair of emerald suede with slivers of exotic skin on the tips and the cones. they're made for me; so comfortable. when in doubt, walk away.

when in doubt, walk away. yeah, right. there were lots of chunky necklaces this time; i almost died. but this one stood out. i don't own anything like it. i decided i'd try it on anyway. surprisingly it's longer than i'd expected. i never took it off.

i'm already thinking about the swedish clogs on my fave etsy seller's list for months and months. should i reopen that damned can? more are going to wear them now, thanks to Chanel. when in doubt, walk away. but i've a feeling that's where i'll be after i publish this post.

^all items from granny's day out where there's a storewide 30% sale. members get additional 10% off. until end oct.^
