1st 'joke': my ex supervisor said i looked like i wore her mother's dress. she thought her mother had looked gross. but she said i looked nice. i was to receive a few more compliments later. 

2nd 'joke': "is your hair real?" a colleague asked. i thought she was referring to my black anteprima shawl. she thought i had extensions done. ha ha. i've received not a few compliments about my hair. which made it even harder for me to decide what i should do with it. i was to catch my hairstylist before the industry practice of levying a surcharge for the festive period. is it practised similarly in europe and america?
