i'm planning for a trip to Milan end of this year. if you only have 9 to 10 days, where would you recommend i must go, outside of Milan? besides Florence, where else is worth stopping by, factoring in the expected weather conditions of that time of the year? can i do Florence in a day? can i do day trips at all, as i'd like to make Milan my 'homebase'? my budget is really low.. i'm not even sure what's the minimum i must prepare. the only sure thing is i don't have to worry about accomodation and food.
please direct me to any links that might help answer my question. i'd be very grateful for any tips and advice you could send me. very many thanks in advance!

OH BOY! I'm so envious! I'd kill to go to Milan. I heard Florence is a beaut.
haha which forum are you and your drums teacher thinking of?
hi.
enjoy your stay in milan.
when you wish to go to florence you can rent a car and drive about 3 hours to florence (don´t care about the traffic!).
you can also go by train from central station (order your tickets directly online from milan to firenze smn (santa maria novella at http://trenitalia.it)
the outlets in florence are about 1 hour outside in leccio (the mall)) and montevarchi for prada.
milan has some outlets which i can´t recommend at all: the best
is still the marni outlet at via tajani... it´s difficult to find and a little bit outside the center. the outlet from 10corso como has still outrageous prices in my opinion and are only open on friday/saturday.
the main 10corso como store has to be on your list for shopping or looking... such a wonderful store!
please feel free to drop me a line when you need any further assistance!
There is lots to do in Florence, but if you plan ahead, you can do it all in one day. If you are wanting to see art, you will need reservations for the museums, otherwise, you waste a lot of time in line!
Make sure you go to Ferragamo and see the shoe museum there. Also, the Pitti Palace usually has vintage clothing on display.
