i'm suddenly obsessed with everything cane. i have no idea how it came about. there's this rocking chair that's listed on gumtree or craiglist that i was eyeing too but the price is on the high side. i was in chinatown a coupla days back and saw some (new) sold at $65. i suppose i'll get one of those eventually. cane chairs are sold at ridiculous prices on etsy and other overseas stores like anthro. i like both the 'old' look of unpainted cane chairs and the painted ones. i have actually been toying with the idea of moving the old ikea cupboards to the nest and painting them black because ikea's wood furniture is after all quite plastic looking... if you know what i mean. we've had them for quite a long time though, before the brand became more affordable to the masses, so the wood look quite patina'd.

we'll see how long this phase lasts.
